  In 1938, Orson Welles' Mercury Theatre brought the terror of the Martian invasion into living rooms across the nation. Today, as the dead reanimate and society crumbles, we bring humanity's final words from the infinite space of radio. There is no hope. This is Dead Air. This Friday and Saturday Sept 18, 8 pm. Sat Sept 18 show will be followed by a performance from local blues trio, Tattar Tucker Moog at 10pm.

  I would like to offer a warm heart felt thanks to all the people who helped make The Dude Hates Cancer a huge success. Yards and Magic Hat Brewerys for their generous donations, all the people who came and drank all the donated beer,the musicians that played the events, our facebook fans and customers that made online donations and our bowling team. Great job everyone, we help raise over $54,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

• 8/27/2010 - The Dude, Dawson & Yards all hate cancer!
  Whoever decided to mix fund raising with beer was a genius. We've decided to mix fund raising and rare one off beer. Please Join Yards guys at the Dawson Street Pub as we will unveil a special test batch the next friend to our year round line up of beers. Tom Kehoe has put together Yards 1, the first system ever used to make Yards, and tested out a recipe for the Love Stout. This will be a very rare opportunity to try our delicious experiment. There is an extremely small amount of this beer in existence. An even better reason to come out on this wonderful Friday evening is that its a benefit for "The Dude Hates Cancer", which is an organization helping to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Help Dawson Street Pub and Yards raise money for a great cause. All the sales from the keg will be donated to the Society.   Hello to my friends, family and business associates.

  As some of you know we here at Dawson Street Pub have been involved with The Dude Hates Cancer! Charity Bowling Tournament since it began 5 years ago. This event was started by my friend Tim Maxwell after his father was diagnosed with Leukemia. It has grown from a small neighborhood event which raised $1400 to a nationally recognized event that last year raised over $27,000. For more info please log on to http://www.thedudehatescancer.com

  There will be a pre-event party featuring beer by our friends at Yards Brewing on Friday August 27. The pub is also fielding a bowling team and each team and team member is raising funds independently.   The Dawson Street Pub Thursday, May 27, 2010 Beer and Cheese Pairing Featuring Brooklyn Brewery, NY Summer Ale and Chevre, Boucheron, France This is a refreshing Beer brewed with Premium English Barley malt resulting in a light-bodied golden Ale. The German and American hops lend a fresh bitterness and citrus-floral aroma. These characteristics, combined with the light salt and texture of this Goat’s Milk Cheese, will open your palate for the first Pairing on the plate. It is accompanied by Apricot Jam. Pennant Ale and Twin Oaks Cheddar, Canada Scottish Maris Otter malt bring a smooth, toasty flavor to this honey-colored Pale Ale. Its well-balanced hop body is complemented seamlessly by the Earthy and complex aroma of this 5 Year-aged Cheddar. Its flaky texture makes this Cheese a traditional Farmhouse Cheddar.   Thanks to the Cabin Dogs, the Adam Monaco Band, Brett Morgan & Ted VanBerg from Off Duty Superheroes and all the other musicians who can out to jam Feb 19th and our good friends at Yards Brewing. We raised over $1100 for the Haitian Professionals of Philadelphia Earthquake relief fund. But the biggest thanks goes to our friends and loyal customers for coming out to support this great event. Cheers!

  The Return of the Old Bartholomew Barleywine!!! 5:00 PM - 11:30 PM Ring in the New Year as we enjoy the past and look forward to the future. We've resurrected our Old Bartholomew Barleywine and we'll be christening the return of it at the legendary Dawson St. Pub. Tom Kehoe and host of characters will be on hand to kick off the celebration. This event marks the first of the 10 days of Barleywine that we're doing around the city. Look out 2010, we're coming in strong!

The Matt Lafferty Band playing some great British invasion ear classic rock this Wednesday night. The incomparable Joe Becton on Friday, and The Dan Kauffman Band mix up some great original music with some deep cut covers.

  “Grave Images” Photography by Ed Snyder I've been making cemetery photographs for fifteen years and have tried very hard not to create sensationalistic, stereotypical creepy images. But how can you avoid the inevitable? Graveyards are just creepy places, especially at night. Couple man's fear of death with the not-so-subtle symbols of mortality in Victorian-era cemeteries and you get some frightening imagery. Enjoy this assortment of images from around the globe, then go home and try to rest in peace. Ed's photographs will be on display at the Back Room Gallery at Dawson through November.

Though we begged and pleaded for him to give our CD one more month to hit the charts, Slu and his lovely wife, Erin, will be moving on to the whiter pastures of Buffalo in July to pursue a spot in Terrell Owens' posse.   UPDATE!!!!!!!! Both Fuller's Cask Ales are being served on our beer engines this weekend. London Pride is gone ESB is almost finished. ESB ESB has a wonderful rich mahogany appearance. Taking in the nose, the beer is bursting with cherry and orange, balanced by soft malty toffee and caramel notes. The flavour delivers everything you would expect from such a full-bodied ale. The unique blend of Northdown, Target, Challenger and Goldings hops imparts grassy, peppery notes on the tongue along with intense citrus fruit characters of grapefruits, oranges and lemons. The blend of Pale Ale and Crystal malts in the brew give a biscuity, toffee element to the beer. A smooth, mellow bitterness lingers on the palate to give a superbly satisfying finish.

The former home of the infamous Cloak and Dagger Room murals by Washington D.C. based Mark T. Smith will now house a rotating collection of work by local area artists.   Here are some of the raffle prizes; there will be two drawings between each set as the bands change over. One will be for smaller items, tickets are $1 or 6 for $5 and the other for the more expensive stuff will be $5 dollars or 6 for $25.
