• 2/19/2010 - Haiti Relief Fund Raiser
  Cabin Dogs will headline a Haiti benefit show at Dawson Street Pub in Manayunk on Friday February 19th. All proceeds go to help Haiti via our friends at the Haitian Professionals of Philadelphia. W/ special musical guests including Adam Monaco Band. Drink specials, raffles. $10 suggested donation. Show starts at 9pm. Hope to see you there.

  Happy New Year! We will be starting 2010 Beer and Cheese Pairings with full flavor~ Tonight we will feature Duvel Green, La Chouffe Blonde and Maredsous 8. The plate will be $12, with which you will be served 1 oz. of each Cheese, bread or crackers and seasonal fruit, and 3 oz. of each Beer. Starts around 8pm. Hope to see you there.

  The Return of the Old Bartholomew Barleywine!!! 5:00 PM - 11:30 PM Ring in the New Year as we enjoy the past and look forward to the future. We've resurrected our Old Bartholomew Barleywine and we'll be christening the return of it at the legendary Dawson St. Pub. Tom Kehoe and host of characters will be on hand to kick off the celebration. This event marks the first of the 10 days of Barleywine that we're doing around the city. Look out 2010, we're coming in strong!

  We're cooking up something special for Thanksgiving weekend. Turkeys!!! Yep, I'm roasting up a couple of turkeys and all the trimmings so we can have left-over style soup and sandwiches all weekend. We're also cooking up some great music. The Matt Lafferty Band playing some great British invasion ear classic rock this Wednesday night. The incomparable Joe Becton on Friday, and The Dan Kauffman Band mix up some great original music with some deep cut covers.

  Beer & Cheese pairing tonight featuring Yards Brewing. Meet the brewers of Yards tonight at 8. Philadelphia's own Yards Brewing and gourmet cheese! What could be better? Tonight on our three Beer Engine we will have Yards ESA, Thomas Jefferson's Tavern Ale and Yards IPA. A flight of three beers and a cheese plate with 1 oz each of three gourmet cheeses is $15.

  “Grave Images” Photography by Ed Snyder I've been making cemetery photographs for fifteen years and have tried very hard not to create sensationalistic, stereotypical creepy images. But how can you avoid the inevitable? Graveyards are just creepy places, especially at night. Couple man's fear of death with the not-so-subtle symbols of mortality in Victorian-era cemeteries and you get some frightening imagery. Enjoy this assortment of images from around the globe, then go home and try to rest in peace. Ed's photographs will be on display at the Back Room Gallery at Dawson through November.

  Ladies, gentlemen, and hermaphrodites, On Friday night, ESP will formally bid farewell to one of our founding members -- Mr. Eric Sliwinski. Though we begged and pleaded for him to give our CD one more month to hit the charts, Slu and his lovely wife, Erin, will be moving on to the whiter pastures of Buffalo in July to pursue a spot in Terrell Owens' posse. To pay tribute to our friend, whose creativity and devotion allowed us to create some of the world's most vile and musically simplistic songs over the past few years, we decided to collect some thoughts from the people who know him best: * "It will be hard to replace Slu...not because he is so good at guitar, but because he is so good at being so bad at guitar." -- Aaron Boczkowski * "If someone farted, it was probably Slu." -- Clair Martin * "Slu is like a reverse Oreo cookie -- white on the outside with a smooth, black filling. • 5/1/2009 - Two Fuller's Casks!
  UPDATE!!!!!!!! Both Fuller's Cask Ales are being served on our beer engines this weekend. London Pride is gone ESB is almost finished. ESB ESB has a wonderful rich mahogany appearance. Taking in the nose, the beer is bursting with cherry and orange, balanced by soft malty toffee and caramel notes. The flavour delivers everything you would expect from such a full-bodied ale. The unique blend of Northdown, Target, Challenger and Goldings hops imparts grassy, peppery notes on the tongue along with intense citrus fruit characters of grapefruits, oranges and lemons. The blend of Pale Ale and Crystal malts in the brew give a biscuity, toffee element to the beer. A smooth, mellow bitterness lingers on the palate to give a superbly satisfying finish.

  Local artist and Dawson Street neighbor, Trish Siembora, is the first to showcase her art work at the newly renovated Dawson Street Pub. The former home of the infamous Cloak and Dagger Room murals by Washington D.C. based Mark T. Smith will now house a rotating collection of work by local area artists. NOW COMES THIS :!" it was 40 years ago today..." Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band performed live!!!With colourful,satin band uniforms and a 9 piece band- Drums and Bass and 2 guitars AND tuba, trombone, piano, accordion, tabla, oboe, percussion, and more! wsg: vera, chuck and dave. All at the charming, quaint, local, lovely and not very large Dawson Street Pub! Saturday June 2nd at 10.

• 3/4/2007 - Multiple Myeloma Benefit
  We are hosting a benefit concert for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation on Sunday March 4th,4pm to closing. So far Tom Gillam, Ben Arnold, Chris Kasper, Electric Sex Power and Jeremy Hollis have sign on. There will also be drink specials, 50/50 and raffle prizes. More to come!
• 3/2/2007 - More Benefit Info!
  I would like to thank all the businesses that are helping us raise money by donating gift cards and certificates. I also want to thank Tom Kehoe and everyone at Yards Brewing and Seta Pica at Origlio Beverage for donating beer and some cool stuff for the raffle.
  Here are some of the raffle prizes; there will be two drawings between each set as the bands change over. One will be for smaller items, tickets are $1 or 6 for $5 and the other for the more expensive stuff will be $5 dollars or 6 for $25. Seta from Origlio got us a Guinness snowboard and a vintage style Stella Artoi cooler. Carl at Human donated a skateboard and gift certificate for a free bike tune up.

  I would like to say thank you to all of the people who came to Yards Brewing Saturday night for my birthday party. I was truly surprised and over whelmed.   The benefit was a big success, With the help of you, the loyal Dawson Street regulars, we raised $1100.00 for the Red Cross.Thank you all.I would also like to thank my a great staff, Mark, Maureen, Breezy Mike and Jake.I would also like to thank Joe Six Pack and Kevin from the Daily News, Tom and the staff at Yards brewing.And of course the musicians Chris Kasper, Jeremy Hollis, Garry Lee Trio,Alan James, Flat Possum Boys, Matt Lafferty Band, Double Horse, Scott Silipgini,Jake Carlin, Kat, Johnny B, Lee Whats-hisname,Brian Flanagan,Garry Cogdell, Zack, Mike Mayle,Joe Becton, Mark Furman Band, The Teddy Royal Trio. Plus my girl Amy, for delivering food and helping with the door. And most importantly I would like to thank beer, for bringing us all together. • 9/14/2005 - Ornaments for Charity
  Sharp Street Glass will be selling hand blown glass ornaments for $20 avalible at the pub. The proceeds of these sales will go to help victims of Hurricane Katrina. Sharp Steet Glass is located 2 blocks from the Pub and makes the finest artisan hand made glasswares for galleries around the world. They are not open to the pubilc but you might talk Chris into a tour if you buy him a pint.
